Thursday we had the much anticipated 3D ultrasound. I always look forward to seeing little R/P, naturally, but I really wasn't prepared for the experience this turned out to be! I am still amazed at how real and baby-like this little guy/girl looks! It just seems too early to be able to make out such distinct features. Not to mention all it took was a little goop and a plastic probe transducer sliding around on my belly! Baby has Chloe's nose, and in general greatly resembles her. He/she also has a little dimple between his/her bottom lip and chin - so cute. I am absolutely smitten! He/she cooperated during the ultrasound, but the umbilical cord kept getting in his/her face, which distorted several of the pictures. We did still manage to get some really good ones though. Enjoy!
You can see all the umbilical cord to the left of baby's face. Look at that little dimple under his/her lip.
Is that a smile I see?
Button nose, just like big sister!
Big yawn!
Feeling shy...
Peace!
Check out these guns, Dad!
Here's almost the whole package: leg, arm, hand and a hint of baby's profile.
11 weeks to go! What do you guys think? Will this baby share a birthday with his/her sister?

Those are spectacular!!! How amazing is it that you can have pictures like that of your little baby that is IN YOUR STOMACH?! I love the last one that shows just how squished that beautiful baby is. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, that is amazing! Already so cute! I love the little yawn! I can't believe you only have 11 weeks left - your pregnancy if flying by! For me anyway :)
Those are really amazing! I'm so glad you shared them. After seeing them, I'm sticking with my original thought on the gender... :)
Those are really neat!! I am shocked you didn't peak to see if it was a he or she. We were surprised once and it was fun but we haven't done it since!
That is a little miracle! WOW what neat pictures. I'm excited to find out what gender baby is? Do you all know and aren't telling or do you really not know?!
That is awesome! I never had one with addie. Thanks for sharing.
I can't believe those. They are amazing, how fun to see your baby so up close that you can see distinct features. I better get this done with my next baby!
Valeri,
I can hardly believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! You are almost there! I love your blog and wish that I were as diligent about keeping up as you are. Congrats on such a marvelous little child. He/she is a lucky one! I still think it is a boy.
Love the 3D ultrasound pictures! I still can't believe you are not finding out the gender with all these ultrasounds you've had. I would go crazy!
Wow! I never had a 3D ultrasound and always wished I had. Any feelings on whether it's he or she?
So cute! I never did a 3D one either, they are so amazing... I can't believe you only have 11 wks left. This little babe will be here before you know it.
Did you clone chloe? It looks like your using her sono pictures. I'm so excited for this little one to come.
That is amazing! How fun to see that.
Cried and cried and cried to see this precious little one.....just growing, waiting to be born. Beyond wonderful. How amazing it is that pictures like this can be seen! Dad loves them too. We looked at them several days ago - don't know why it took this long to comment :).
Love you all soooooo much!
Mama/Gma Jill
The baby is beautiful! I can only imagine how excited you are! I can't wait to meet the next Andersen addition!
Wow--those pictures are INCREDIBLE, Valeri!!! It is absolutely amazing what you can see in ultrasounds now!!!!! Such a cute little thing with such clear facial features and expressions!! Don't you just love being pregnant???!!! I always did!! It will be so exciting to see this beautiful baby when he/she is born! And I don't know what Wendy's guess was, but I'm betting mine is the same. I guess I'd better get on there and cast my vote. :)
Love to all four of you!!
Pat
I forgot to mention that Chase also has a little dimple on his chin, just like his daddy's and his Grandpa Craig's. :)
