With all the signs that Fall is just around the corner, I've found myself reminiscing about and pondering some of the reasons it's my favorite season. Here are ten (in no particular order):
1. The vibrant leaves and the crisp cool air.
2. Pumpkins, whether they be in pies or decorating someone's front porch.
3. Dad and Mom's annual Colorado visits, which, for this year, sadly ended this morning.
(We miss you already!)
4. Football season.
5. Thanksgiving day:
kitchen aromas, cheering football fans, warmth of loved ones gathering to celebrate gratitude.
6. The new beginnings brought by the opening of school.
7. My babies - it's apparently my season for having them.
8. Bundling Chloe up in her Halloween costume.
(I say "bundling" because our first snow of the season almost always falls Halloween night.)
{Halloween 2007}
9. Harvest scented candles, fall decor, and hot apple cider.
10. Knowing Christmas isn't far away.
Why do you love Fall?

Wow, I didn't realize how much I love Fall too! You've convinced me though and brought back many wonderful memories. I'm excited now to make more this season.
I love fall for all those same reasons. Maybe not the football one as much, but I love all the other reasons! I'm so happy it's finally coming!
How wonderful this is - I love it!! I also love fall for all the same reasons. Yours is the perfect title - there is just something in the air. It's so ironic - fall is the season of things dying, but actually to me (like to you) it's always meant new beginnings. I think Susan Evans McCloud captures it beautifully in her lovely poem, "Protest," in her wonderful book, "Songs of Life."
They say the world is dying,
But I can feel a strain,
A thrill of pure, ecstatic life
That no one can explain.
There's something in the color,
There's something in the taste
Of autumn's breath on cheek and hair
That winter cannot waste.
If autumn is a dying,
Then dying must be joy,
A wild brave show of splendor
That nothing can destroy.
I live, I thrive on autumn
Intensely. Death may call,
But beauty such as I feel here
Can never die at all.
(Sorry to take so much room for that....just couldn't help it.)
Love love love,
Mama
(We miss you already too!)
My FAVORITE time of year. Diddo, Diddo, Diddo, Diddo...you get the point. I LOVE the fall, sweaters, crisp smell in the air of cool nights, colors (wish we had some here), Halloween. Great post.
What a short trip for your parents, seems like they had just arrived. I am also with you I love fall. Especially when all the leaves change it looks so pretty.
I couldn't agree with you more!! These are all my favorite things about fall too!!!
You already know that I LOVE fall!! And for all the same reasons and more...cheering at football games, dance concert, Brandon and I hooked up in the fall, jackets and sweaters are back, etc! It really is the BEST time of year!
I think i agree with you...although I'm told the fall isn't as pretty here in Indiana. you do such a wonderful job on your blog...I love looking through it. Makes me really miss you guys!
I love Fall too!! I love the colors, the flavors and the weather change. I am missing Colorado and the four seasons. Here we have Miserable Hot, hot and bearable hot! I still love Texas!! Cute baby bump!!!
I agree...I love the fall, and it came so fast here. I love your new look...fits right in with the season.
We have awesome falls here!! you'll have to come see for yourself.=] I love fall becuase pete's birthday is in the middle of it. Plus the first day of school was always exciting.
Amen.
I love, love, love this time of year for all the same reasons. PLUS my birthday is in October...so that definitely is a bonus as well.
Oh, such great reasons to love Fall. I had fall babies at first too -- Cameron Oct. 29 and Micah Oct. 3. They always had Halloween themed birthday parties. But then the twins are December birthdays so that ends up being Christmas themed. Fall is nice because you still have a chance to go outside if the weather is nice enough.
Fall is my fav too!
